The test pieces are used to check the level of detection of inductive metal detectors and X-ray detectors. The everyday use of Multitesters allows an optimum and precise adjustment of detectors, ensuring that only defect-free products are properly qualified in the production process.
How to match the contaminant in the test piece to the tested product?
The contaminant used in the Multitester test piece must be selected taking into account the risks associated with the product and the production process, as well as the type of the detector (i.e. inductive - only metals, x-ray - including other materials as well). The standards set by the Quality Department or HACCP specify which contaminants may potentially occur in the production process. The most common risk involves contaminating a product with metals, therefore for practical reasons, a metal test piece is typically used to verify the performance of virtually all detectors. If the internal standards at your facility do not specify other types of contaminants which may be present in your products, please refer to the guidelines provided in the table of potential contaminants presented below:
How many test pieces should I buy in order to verify the performance of a detector?
The amount of contaminants tested is determined by the Quality Department Standards or analysis based on the HACCP system. If you have any questions regarding the selection of testers, please refer to the DOWNLOADS table below: Potential contaminants - Guide or contact our Customer Service.
